On Sunday, 6 August 1911, J. H. McAninch died after a work-related injury - |
|
(obituary) "J. H. McAninch, one of the county's oldest and most dependable citizens, died |
|
last Sunday morning, the result of blood poisoning. Mr. McAninch injured his arm while |
|
employed at the Miller Lumber Company mill last week, and from the injury the blood |
|
poison developed. The internment took place Sunday afternoon. To the sorrowing relatives |
|
the Courier extends sympathy." published in the Lee County Courier newspaper [24] |

J. H. McAninch’s grave may have been unmarked for over 20 years, since the current |

‘C.S.A.’ marker did not arrive until the 1930s (see the 1931 and 1932? sections below). |
