Harvey Edward McAninch (Sr), b.28 Aug. 1921, Stilesville, Hendricks County, |

Indiana, son of Cecil Ray and Forest Elizabeth (Wilcox) McAninch. Harvey married |
|
|
Henrietta Alice Fendley, 1941, prob. in Indiana. Harvey served as a Gunner's Mate in |
|
|
the U.S. Navy during World War II, stationed in Long Beach, California, where their |
|
|
first two children were born (sons Harvey Edward McAninch Jr., and Donald Lee |
|
|
McAninch). After the war, Harvey, Henrietta and family returned to central Indiana, |
|
|
and had four more children (Robert J., Janice S., John W., and Diane C. McAninch). |
|
|
Harvey Edward McAninch (Sr) died 24 June 1964, and is buried in the Stilesville |
|
|
Cemetery, Stilesville, Hendricks County, Indiana ("GM2 US Navy" "World War II"). |
|
|
Henrietta married(2) John Hamilton, and lived in Terre Haute, Indiana, where she died |
|
|
12 Feb. 2013; Henrietta is buried at Restlawn Cemetery, Brazil, Clay County, Indiana. |

(Melvin) Jay McAninch b.24 Sept. 1906, Hawarden, Sioux County, Iowa, son of |
|
|
Harvey and Elinore 'Ella' (Anderson) McAninch, long-time farmers in Sioux County. |
|
|
Melvin J. McAninch married Gladys Violette Janes, 6 Nov. 1927, Sioux City, Iowa; |
|
|
they are living in LeMars, Plymouth County, Iowa, in 1930 and 1940, where Melvin J. |
|
|
is a barber. He served as a Private First Class (PFC) in the Army in World War II, and |
|
|
came to California, living at 319 Elm Ave., Long Beach (city directories, 1943 to 1963). |
|
|
After the war, Melvin Jay was an aircraft worker at Douglas Aviation, and Gladys |
|
|
worked as a beautician. Melvin J. and Gladys V. McAninch did not have any children. |
|
|
Apparently, M. J. lived at the same address until he died, 15 Oct. 1975, Long Beach, |
|
|
Los Angeles County, California. Gladys died later, 22 May 1989, Josephine County, |
|
|
Oregon; both Melvin J. and Gladys V. are buried at Green Hills Memorial Park, |
|
|
Rancho Palos Verdes, Los Angeles County, California. |

Harold Leroy McAninch, b.22 Apr. 1901, Minneapolis, Hennepin County, Minnesota, |
|
|
second son of Harry Vance and Ella (Johnson) McAninch. In the mid 1920's, Harold |
|
|
married Grace Riddle Evans (prob. Missouri), and they had three children: |
|
|
Richard Evans McAninch (Sr), Charles Harry McAninch, and Betty Jane McAninch, |
|
|
all born in St. Louis, Missouri. Harold and Grace were divorced (prob. Missouri), and |
|
|
Harold came to California, living in Los Angeles in 1940, Salesman for a Brewery. |
|
|
Harold married(2) Esther F. (Scott) Gebhard (divorced), ca.1943 (prob. California), |
|
|
and they are listed in the 1944 city directory, and multiple voter registration records. |
|
|
Harold and Esther did not have any children. Harold Leroy McAninch died |
|
|
9 Sept. 1956, North Hollywood, Los Angeles County, California, and Esther died |
|
|
13 Feb. 1957, San Joaquin County, California (burial records unknown). |
