At this time, Daniel McAninch’s family probably included at least five to seven people:

1. Daniel McAninch, b.1748-1752, (northern) Ireland, probable age 47-51 in 1799;

2. Mary (Smith) McAninch, his wife, est. b.ca.1756 (married 1776), prob. age 43-47;

3-4-5. Three oldest sons: John McAninch (the oldest son), b.1779-1780 in Pennsylvania;

  Samuel McAninch (second son), b.ca.5 Feb. 1789 in Pennsylvania, age ~10 in 1799; and

  George A. McAninch (third son), b.1794-1795 in Virginia, on the way to Tennessee;

6-7. And (at least) two daughters, Peggy (Elizabeth?) McAninch and Rhoda McAninch.

The new Pulaski County was defined Dec. 10, 1798, effective June 1, 1799, created from

parts of Green County and Lincoln County. Some Lincoln County McAninch land parcels

and tax records are now in the territory of the new Pulaski County. [Pula]

1799

William McAninch’s land is now in Pulaski County, and this is his first appearance in the

Pulaski County Tax List: 1 White Male 21 and over (William himself), 1 White Male 16-20

(his son James McAninch), no Blacks, 2 Horses, and 100 acres of 2nd‑rate land. The land

was Entered by Richard Brock, Surveyed for McAninch. [CBP.a] [1799 William]

(Survey record) "Surveyed for William McAninch assignee of Richard Brock 108 acres of

second-rate land by virtue of his having a settlement and certificate 222, situate lying and

being in the County of Pulaski and on Fishing Creek . . . ", according to Pulaski County

Daniel (200a 3r, Fishing Creek, Lincoln) -

Daniel McAninch claimed 200 acres of 3rd‑rate land in the "Fishing Creek" watercourse in

Lincoln County, and held this claim until 1802 (see 1802 below). [EKL]

3 Horses, and (curiously) Daniel is not taxed on any land (Daniel is recorded on the last line

on the page, which is hard to interpret; note that the over-written "2539-3/4" value is the
