Notes: Endnotes and Sources [30] to [31]:

[30].

Sarah (Sally) McAninch married George Hancock, 12 Mar. 1840, in Hendricks County.

[30a]

presumably, Sarah (Sally) (McAninch) Hancock was buried in this area, in an unknown location (it is possible that her father, Samuel McAninch, would have wanted to bury her in the McAninch-Pike ‘family cemetery’).

[30b]

In the 1850 census, Samantha Hancock, the only child of George and Sally (McAninch) Hancock, was enumerated with her grand-father Samuel McAninch [10], along with

Mary E. " [ditto, Hancock?], age 4, and John W. " [ditto, Hancock?], age 2; however, it is now believed that John W. is actually John Wesley Mann, not Hancock [30c] [31].

[30c]

Because George Hancock died before his daughter Samantha was born, Sally (Sarah) (McAninch) Hancock would not have had any other children, and the " [ditto, Hancock?] surname is believed to be incorrect on the 1850 census for the two youngest children, Mary E. and John W. (Rosalie Eben Schack) [9].

[31].

Hannah McAninch married William Mann, 1 Sept. 1842, in Hendricks County; it is not known when Hannah (McAninch) Mann died, nor where; if she died ca.1849 in Hendricks County, then she would be another candidate for the list of ‘other possible burials in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery’.

[31a]

Hannah (McAninch) Mann could be buried here, as could a possible daughter of hers, Mary E. Mann. Mary E. " [ditto, Hancock?] is listed on the 1850 census living with Samuel McAninch and his family [along with Simantha (sic) Hancock, and John W. " (surname should be Mann, not Hancock)] (Rosalie Eben Schack) [9] [10] (Jerry Mann) [50].

[31b]

It is possible that Mary E. is John’s older sister, and that Mary E. did not live to be an adult, or, if she did, we have no record of her. John W. Mann seems to be the only heir to Hannah (McAninch) Mann’s property in the settlement of Samuel McAninch’s estate in 1861 [27] (and in Ringgold County, Iowa) (Rosalie Eben Schack) [9].

[31c]

William Mann married Hannah McAninch in 1842, and their son John was born in 1849, so, there certainly could have been other children [surname Mann, not " (Hancock)] [30c].
