of land on the North side of Nolachukey River on Little Sinking Creek" (sic, Nolachukey)

(1st page) Indenture: "This indenture made this 21st Day of October in the year of our Lord

one thousand seven hundred and ninety-seven between Daniel McAninch of the one part, and

Melon Haworth of the other part, both of Greene County and State of Tennessee.

Witnesseth, that for and in consideration of the sum of sixty pounds Virginia currency [A2-6]

by the said Haworth in hand paid to the said McAninch at and before the sealing and delivering

of these presents, the receipt and payment whereof is hereby acknowledged, the said McAninch

hath bargained, granted, sold, aliened, enfieffed, conveyed, and confirmed, and by these presents,

doth grant, bargain, sell, alien, enfieff and convey and confirm unto the said Haworth his heirs

and assigns forever, all that tract or parcel of Land, contained one hundred acres in the

County of Greene and State of Tennessee aforesaid, on the North side of Nolachucky river.

Beginning at two maple saplings and two ashes on the side of a branch of Little Sinking Creek,

then east fifty-four poles to a stake, thence North sixty-two poles to a white oak, then East

one hundred and twelve poles to a post oak, then North seventy-seven poles to a stake on
