2. Elisha H. McAninch, went to Pittsburgh, believed died and buried in Allegheny County;

3. William L. McAninch and Jennette (Welch) McAninch ("W.L. & J.")

William L. McAninch (b.8 Aug 1813, d.16 Aug 1894) and wife Jennette (Welch) McAninch

(b.ca.1816, d.1861-1866) are buried in Saint Johns (Windy Hill) Cemetery, Stanton, Jefferson

County, Pennsylvania, according to the Tombstone Hoppin' 1981 book, pg.58 Col.3, [Note 2];

4. George A. McAninch, died 1899, buried Mount Pleasant United Methodist Cemetery;

5. James Lewis McAninch, went to Kansas, died there in 1893, buried in Riley County, Kansas;

6. Samuel Jones McAninch, went to Venango County, Pennsylvania, died and buried there;

7. Sylvester J. "Squire" McAninch, died 1911, buried Knoxdale Mount Pleasant Cemetery.

Wonder how many other people are buried here, and if any other unmarked / weathered stones

might be found, buried under a half-inch of soil? And, if there are other people buried in the

McAninch Farm Cemetery, wonder who were the latest, most-recent burials? anyone after 1875?

MFC'13Graves (analysis and conclusions, 2023)

The McAninch Farm Cemetery appears to have been in use for about 40 years (1830s-1870s).

Established in the late 1830s, the earliest (identifiable) burial was Almira J. McAninch, daughter

of William L. and Jennette (Welch) McAninch ("W.L. & J."), who died in February 1837, and

the last (known) burial was Henry H. McAninch (b.10 June 1818), who died in May 1875.

Records of 13 or 14 different graves have been found for the McAninch Farm Cemetery, which

is still located in Beaver Township, Jefferson County, Pennsylvania. The identification of these

13 or 14 graves is the net conclusion resulting from the combination of the four main sources

(CBR’1898), (TH’1981), (HSM'1994), and the (BB'10Graves) list used in this analysis, with a

few specific details confirmed by photographs of some of the stones at the cemetery.

The "Unknown" grave reported on Blanche Blizzard’s 1995 cemetery survey could be the burial

site for any one of six (known) people, or a (currently) "Unknown" person:

1. the two Crowe’s mentioned in the Commemorative Biographical Record 1898 book

a. Rachel (Thompson) Crowe (b.ca.1787, d.est.1850-1860) (CBR’1898-1of2), or

b. William Crowe (b.ca.1787, d.est.1850-1860) (CBR’1898-2of2);

2. as noted under "only seven of nine" in the (BB'10Graves) section above, it could be either

a. Elijah McAninch ("Elijah" in TH'1981-2of9) ("Elijah" in HSM'1994-E.7.) or

b. Sarah McAninch ("Sarah C." in TH'1981-7of9) ("Sarah" in HSM'1994-S.2.);

3. as noted in the "Others’2023 (possible other people, analysis)" section above, it could be

a. William H. McAninch (b.ca.1783; died 19 Jan. 1864, age 81), or

b. his wife Isabel (Hopkins) McAninch (b.ca.1783, d.ca.1864);

4. or, of course, it could really be a different person, a (currently) "Unknown" person.
