FAG’2022 Photos (online) |
|
A "McAninch Family Cemetery" site has been created on the findagrave.com website. [Note 8] |
There are many errors on that website, with the location given as "Brookville, Jefferson County"; |
of course, the "McAninch Farm Cemetery" cemetery has not moved, and it is still where it has |
always been, on the (former) McAninch farm near Ohl in Beaver Township, Jefferson County. |
|
There are (headstone) tombstone photographs for six McAninch graves posted online in 2022, |
along with GPS coordinates posted for five of these people: |
(FAG’2022-1) Almira J McAninch ("Almira J." confirmed by her tombstone photo) (GPS), |
(FAG’2022-2) Elijah McAninch ("Elijah "McAnich" (sic), spelling on his tombstone) (GPS), |
(FAG’2022-3) Elmira McAninch ("Elmira" on photograph of her tombstone) (no GPS location), |
(FAG’2022-4) Henry Hamilton McAninch ("H. H. McAninch" on his tombstone photo) (GPS), |
(FAG’2022-5) Sarah E. McAninch ("Sarah E." on tombstone photo, not "Sarah C.") (GPS), and |
(FAG’2022-6) William T McAninch ("William T." confirmed by photo of his tombstone) (GPS). |

William H. McAninch and Isabel (Hopkins) McAninch |
William H. McAninch (b.ca.1783; died 19 Jan. 1864, age 81) (so, William b.ca.1783, not 1771) |
and his wife Isabel (Hopkins) McAninch (b.ca.1783, d.ca.1864) were married ca.1803 in |
Armstrong County. William and Isabel had twelve children, including sons Elijah McAninch |
(b.27 Aug. 1810, d.1 Aug. 1840) and Henry H. McAninch (b.10 June 1818, d.15 May 1875). |
Both boys were born at Brady’s Bend, Armstrong (now Clarion) County (not Dauphin County). |
William and Isabel are living in Beaver Township in the 1860 census, so, William and/or Isabel |
could have been buried at the McAninch Family Cemetery 3 or 4 years later. Unfortunately, it is |
not known where William and/or Isabel are buried, and there are no records that would confirm |
or contradict possible William and/or Isabel burials on the McAninch farm. [Note 6] [Note 7] |
|
Crowe, Jane M. (McAninch) Edmonds |
Elijah McAninch (b.1810, d.1840) is buried at the McAninch Farm cemetery. However, his wife |
Jane M. (Crowe) (McAninch) Edmonds (b.1813, Armstrong Co.) is not buried here. After Elijah |
died, his widow Jane married (2nd) Thomas Edmonds ca.1842; Thomas died in 1884, Jane died |
in 1898, and they are both buried in the Ohl Cemetery, Ohl, Jefferson County, Pennsylvania. |
|
Crowe, Mary H. "Polly" (McAninch) |
Henry H. McAninch (b.10 June 1818, d.15 May 1875) is buried in the McAninch Farm Cemetery. |
However, his wife Mary H. "Polly" (Crowe) McAninch (b.ca.1820, Armstrong Co.) was living in |
Beaver Township in 1880, age 58, and later living in Bellevue (Allegheny County), Penn., in 1898, |
according to the Commemorative Biographical Record 1898 book [CBR, Note 1]. It is not known |
when or where she died, but she is probably not buried in the McAninch Farm Cemetery . |
