Indiana (1 of 8): July 16, 1829, Daniel McAninch, “of Putnam County, Indiana”, Cash Entry sale, at Crawfordsville Land Office, Receipt No. 8710, $100 (80a @ $1.25). Patent Certificate No. 8710, issued Nov., 1, 1830, (BLM IN 1040_.391), 80 acres, Putnam Co. (W½ SW¼ S36 T14N R3W); “For the President A.J. [Andrew Jackson], [by] E.H., Commissioner of the General Land Office”.

This is Daniel [J.?] McAninch, born 1796, Kentucky, son of Daniel [O.?] McAninch; the younger Daniel married Dorcas Burks, Jan. 8, 1822, Mercer Co., Kentucky, and they had seven children; they lived in Mercer County, 1822-1827, and moved to Indiana in 1828 (with the Burks family?).

Donelson, Sec’y; Elijah Hayward, Commissioner of the General Land Office”.

Samuel McAninch, b. Feb. 5, 1789, son of Daniel [O.] McAninch, of Kentucky; Samuel married (2nd) Polly Skidmore, July 5, 1813, in Lincoln Co., Kentucky, and moved to Indiana, 1831-1832, with 11 children (2 more born in Indiana).

Patent Certificate 17231, Sept. 3, 1834 (BLM IN 1210_.433), 80 acres, in Hendricks County (W½ NW¼ S9 T14N R2W); (for) “President Andrew Jackson, by A.J. Donelson, Sec’y; Elijah Hayward, Commissioner of the General Land Office”. The same Samuel McAninch, with wife Polly (Skidmore), and 11 children.

(7 of 8): March 30, 1837, Elisha McAninch, “of Putnam County, Indiana”, Cash Entry sale, at Crawfordsville Land Office, Patent Certificate No. 26768 (BLM IN 1400_.443), 39.12 acres, in Putnam County (NW¼ NE¼ S6 T13N R2W).

Elisha McAninch, born Oct. 12, 1815, Casey Co., Kentucky, is the oldest son of Samuel and Polly (Skidmore) McAninch; Elisha married Barsheba Scott, June 30, 1836, Putnam County, and they raised twelve children in Putnam County.

Mississippi (1 of 1): June 15, 1843, William McAninch, “of DeSoto County, Mississippi”, Cash sale, Pontotoc Land Office, Patent Certificate No. 13621 (BLM MS 3010_.182), 165.41 acres, DeSoto County, Mississippi (SW¼ S18 T4S R7W). Signed for “President John Tyler, by R. Tyler, Sec’y, Jos. S. Wilson, Acting Recorder of the General Land Office”.

William McAninch, born Abt. 1805, Kentucky, son of William McAninch, who died 1813, Casey County, Kentucky, and named his five sons in his Will. In 1840 and 1850 Census records, this son William McAninch is in DeSoto Co., Mississippi (8 children, 1850); he died there, March 1854, estate administered by Maria McAninch.
