Daniel A. and Rhoda B. (Wilson) McAninch were the parents of 11 children, not 13

a. 11 children, as stated in the anniversary and obituary articles [9] [10] [11] [18]

b. Rhoda reports '11 children, 7 living', in both 1900 and 1910 census records [14] (h)

    (Vern died 1912, Fred died 1914, and Dora died 1922, all 3 died after 1910 census)

c. all of the contemporary sources from their time agree on 'eleven children'

d. earlier mis-statements reporting "13 children" and "two stillborn in 1886" came from

    handwritten family notes, which are now believed to be incorrect (see 30.g. below)

e. it is possible that the author of those old notes was confused with the twin boys

    Arthur A. McAninch and Atlas S. McAninch, born 20 Feb. 1879, and both of these

    infant males died in the winter of 1879 [13]

f. and, also, possible confusion among multiple Daniel McAninch men, considering that

    Daniel A.'s father, Daniel ('senior') McAninch (1819-1897), was one of 13 children

    of his father, Samuel McAninch [3]

g. so, four MFHN Newsletter pages have been updated 'in place' to show "11" / "eleven"

    children, with inline text corrections for '11 13' / 'eleven thirteen' / '1886' on each page
