(8) Maude McAninch was born 5 Sept. 1883 in Coatesville, eighth child of Daniel A. and Rhoda B.

(Wilson) McAninch. Maude grew up in Coatesville, attended Amo High School, Class of 1903,

and trained at the Indiana State Normal School (now Indiana State University) in Terre Haute,

Vigo County .In 1920, Maude was a public-school Teacher, living with her older sister Dora and

her husband, Charles Swain, in Terre Haute. On 14 Oct. 1911, Maude married a fellow teacher,

(James) Loren Bilderbeck, in Coatesville. Loren and Maude taught in Arkansas, where their first

child, daughter Lorene Bilderbeck, was born 20 Aug. 1912, and they taught in Indiana, where their

other two children, daughter LaVerne Bilderbeck, born 12 Feb. 1920, and their son James Lionel

Bilderbeck, born 22 Aug. 1922, were both born in Indiana. The family then moved to Florida,

living in Newberry, Alachua County, (north-central) Florida, with both teaching at schools in the

local area. Loren died 27 Jan. 1960, in Jacksonville, Duval County, Florida, age 74, and Maude

died 13 Oct. 1978, in Winter Park, Orange County, Florida, age 95; Loren and Maude are both

buried in the Riverside Memorial Park, Jacksonville, Duval County, Florida. [20, pictures]

(9) William Morton 'Bill' McAninch was born 15 Mar. 1886 in Coatesville, the ninth child of

Daniel A. and Rhoda B. (Wilson) McAninch. Bill McAninch grew up in Coatesville, and attended

Amo High School, Class of 1906. Bill managed the town's local 'Coatesville Bluz' baseball team

in his 20s and 30s. Bill never married, and had no children He lived in Coatesville his entire life,

with his multi-talented legal and agency business as "Attorney-at-Law / Notary Public / General

Insurance Agent / Life, Accident . . . / Real Estate / Surety Bonds . . ." (1919 advertisement in the

Coatesville Herald newspaper). Bill McAninch died 18 Aug. 1942, age 56, and is buried with the

family in the Coatesville Cemetery. [15] [16] [20, pictures]

(10) Frederick Thomas 'Fred' McAninch was born 17 Mar. 1888 in Coatesville, the tenth child of

Daniel A. and Rhoda B. (Wilson) McAninch. Fred grew up in Coatesville, and attended the Amo

High School, Class of 1906. Fred married his high-school classmate, Estella M. 'Tillie' Phillips,

on 18 Sept. 1910, in Amo, Hendricks County,and they lived in Indianapolis, Marion County,

where their only child, Ralph Phillips McAninch,was born on 4 July 1911. Fred was a telegraph

operator, and was away working in Colorado in 1914, when he died there, 21 Mar. 1914, age 26.

Later, Tillie McAninch was appointed Postmaster at Amo, Indiana, 1918-1923. She married(2nd)

Fred L. Walls, on 15 Apr. 1922, and they lived in Amo, where Tillie (Phillips) (McAninch) Walls

died 11 Oct. 1976, age 89. Both Fred Thomas McAninch and Estella 'Tillie' (Phillips) McAninch

are buried in the Stilesville Cemetery, Stilesville, Hendricks County.

(11) Vern (Vern, not Vernon) Wilson McAninch (1890-1912), was the eleventh and last child

of Daniel A. and Rhoda B. (Wilson) McAninch. Vern grew up in Coatesville, and attended the

Amo High School, Class of 1908. In December 1909, Vern enlisted in the U.S. Army, and went to

Cincinnati and Columbus Barracks in Ohio. He then trained as a telegraph and wireless operator

at Fort Omaha, Nebraska. In June 1910, "First-Class Private" Vern McAninch was sent west to

Vancouver Barracks, Washington state, and then north to Alaska, assigned to the Army’s Signal

Corps Co. K at Fort Gibbon on the Yukon River in central Alaska (present-day Tenana, Alaska).

Vern did not marry, and had no children. Unfortunately, Vern became fatally ill in Alaska, and

was returned home, where he died young, 20 Oct. 1912, age 22; Vern is buried with the family

in the Coatesville Cemetery, south of Coatesville, in Hendricks County. [17] [20, pictures]
