William McAninch married Margaret Dye (exact date and place unknown); their two oldest

children (Louisa and Martha) were born in Illinois, c.1828-1831, and then their other four

children (George R., Jacob D., Margaret, and Mary E.) were all born in Kentucky, c.1834-1843.

William and his family moved to Appanoose County, Iowa, sometime before the 1850 census [6].
