This Indenture made this 9th day of February in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty nine between Samuel McAninch of the County of Hendricks and State of Indiana of the one part and John Hancock, Tristram Pike, Elias Grimes, Daniel McAninch and Benjamin Tincher, Trustees ... of the other part, that the said Samuel McAninch for and in consideration of his respect for the Methodist Episcopal Church ... confer a certain lot or piece of land ... part of the South East quarter of the South West quarter of section nine in township fourteen North of Range Two West bounded as follows to wit: |

Beginning at a stake on the line forty rods East of the South East corner of said land above described, ... thence North with section bearing eight rods, thence East ... ten rods, thence South ... eight rods to the said line, then West with said line ten rods to the place of beginning, containing half an acre ... |

unto them the said John Hancock, Tristram Pike, Elias Grimes, Daniel McAninch and Benjamin Tincher and their successors in office forever in trust they shall erect ... a house of worship for the use of the members of the Methodist Episcopal Church ... and in further trust and confidence that they shall at all times forever hereafter permit such Ministers and Preachers belonging to the said Church ... to Preach and expound God’s holy word therein, and to administer the discipline of the Church in such case therein provided. And the said Samuel McAninch doth ...warrant and forever defend all and singular the before mentioned lot or piece of land with the appurtenances unto them the before named Trustees and their successors as aforesaid from the claim or claims of him the said Samuel McAninch his heirs and assigns and from the claim or claims of all persons whatsoever. In testimony whereof the said Samuel McAninch hath hereto set his hand and seal the day and year aforesaid. |

Alfred Hunt and Jane Hunt of County of Hendricks and State of Indiana ... [for] five hundred dollars to them paid by Joseph McAninch and John McAninch of the County of Hendricks and the State of Indiana ... [sell] ... part of the North East quarter of Section Thirty Five, in Township Fifteen North of Range Two West, ... commencing forty feet south of the South East corner of the School House lot, thence South to the land of Joseph Morris, thence West to the land of James Wright, thence North to the South West corner of “Hunt’s Addition” to the Town of Springtown, thence East to the South East corner of said addition, thence North to a point just forty feet from the land of Isabel & Lucetta [sic] Parker, thence East to the place of beginning ... about twenty acres ... In witness whereof the said Alfred Hunt and Jane Hunt his wife who hereby relinquishes her dower in said premises ... set their hands and seals this third day of April A.D. 1851. |
