|
Philadelphia was founded by William Penn on October 27, 1682 in the English Crown Province |
|
of Pennsylvania between the Delaware and Schuylkill rivers. Philadelphia was an important |
|
colonial city, where the Declaration of Independence and Constitution of the United States were |
|
drafted, home of the First and Second Continental Congresses, and, after the Revolution, was the |
|
temporary capital of the United States between 1790 and 1800. Daniel McAninch (b.1750-1755, |
|
(northern) Ireland), John McAninch (b.ca.1760, (n) Ireland), and any other early McA/I/Ninch’s |
|
would almost certainly have come into Penn’s Colony through the Port of Philadelphia. |
