MacPhatter (McPhatter,McPhater,MacPhater). The MacPhatter’s are a Sept 

 

 

 

of the Scottish Clan MacLaren, coming from around Crieff-Aberforle district.

 

 

 

The Clan lands were lost in the 1700s, through loyalty to the Stuart cause, and

 

 

 

only just in recent years have some of them been recovered by the present

 

 

 

Chief of the Clan. After the '45 some of the McPhaters went to the Mull of

 

 

 

Kintire, parish of Killean. (The above explains the association of the above

 

 

 

names with Killean, Crieff, and Aberforle, in the Township of Puslinch).
