[36] Margaret Truaisch became a religious sister, Jack Truaisch married a Cecile and had

one daughter, Helen Truaisch married William McCarney and had two children (Christopher

and Gregory), Nora Truaisch married Fred Smith and had one child (Brian), Kay Truaisch

married Maurice Talbot and had six children (Mary, Patricia, Robert, John, Ann, and Cathy),

James Truaisch married an Ella and had five children, and Mary Truaisch did not marry

(information provided to the author by Barbara Kennedy, of Greeley, Pennsylvania, a

granddaughter of Henry McIninch and Margaret McDonough).

 

[37] The 1930 census of the United States for Enumeration District 49-38, Mt. Carmel borough,

Northumberland county, Pennsylvania, records the family of Raymond Harlor and Mabel

McIninch. Mabel died on 13 July 1947. Barbara Harlor married Roy Kennedy (they did not

have children). Robert Harlor did not marry. Jane Harlor married Elwood Hagey (they did not

have children). Patricia Harlor married John Marso and had two children (Mary and Paul).

Martha Harlor married William Paris (they did not have children). Margaret Harlor married

William Armstrong and had four children (Alan, Marilyn, Wendy, and Nancy). Emily Harlor

married Edwin Stang and had two children (Eric and Sally) (information provided to the author

[38] Teresa was born on 15 November 1869 in or near Marysville, Tyendinaga Township,

Hastings County, Ontario. Her father, James Meagher was born in Ireland circa 1826 and

emigrated circa 1830 to Tyendinaga Township with his parents, William Meagher and Ellen

Sweeney, and his younger brother Thomas. Teresa’s mother, Mary Shaughnessy, was born in or

near Marysville circa 1835 and was a daughter of the Irish-born John Shaughnessy and Hanora

Fitzgerald, who emigrated to Canada in the 1820s. In 1901, according to the census of Canada,

Teresa was working as a domestic servant for the Rathburns, the locally prominent family of

lumber barons, in Belleville.

 

[39] William died in Ottawa on 2 October 1966 and Teresa died in Ottawa on 7 December 1942.

John Henry McIninch (born 2 October 1905 in Belleville, baptized 8 October 1905 at St. Michael’s

in Belleville, and died 13 January 1984 in Montreal) married Catherine Dorothy Grimes at

St. Ignatius Loyola Church in Montreal on 7 June 1941 and had six children (Mary, John, David,

Catherine, Margaret (the mother of the author), and Joseph). Margaret Grace McIninch married

J. Richard Ambroise and had one son (Barry). Mary Bernice McIninch (born 20 August 1907 in

Belleville, baptized 1 September 1907 at St. Michael’s, and died 13 August 1944) married James

Victor Cavanagh and had six children (including daughters Terry, Patricia, and Margaret).

Joseph Laurence McIninch (born 20 September 1908 in Belleville, baptized 4 October 1908 at

St. Michael’s, and died 12 October 1976 in Ottawa) married Ellen Mona Smith on 18 June 1941

at St. Patrick’s in Ottawa and had three children (Margo, Brian, and James).
