Newsletter Format: Style Changes for 2003 |

A new format is now being used in the body of this Newsletter, with paragraphs arranged like this one. Overall, there is more ‘white space’, which should make the articles in the Newsletter easier to read. |

|
Also, ‘hanging indents’ and ‘partial leading’ have been eliminated, and the use of horizontal tabs will be minimized, for easier conversion to hyper-text markup language html pages for the [future] web site. |

Western Pennsylvania: 1790’s Land Records |
|
|
|
The ‘Depreciation Lands’ article has good background information about the land history and records in western Pennsylvania, where Daniel McAninch and John McAninch are found in the 1790 Census (Westmoreland County), and then John McAninch, William McAninch, and Henry McAninch acquire land west of the Allegheny River in the late 1790’s, land now in Armstrong County (established 1800). |
