Obituary. Rebecca Hancock was born in Carrington, Ohio, November 20, 1849, and died in Big Sandy [Iowa], Mon., May 27, 1913, at the age of 63 years, 6 months and 3 days. When eighteen years old she united with the M. E. [Methodist Episcopal] church and was a sincere member. In February of 1872 she was united in marriage with Wesley S. McAninch whose body was laid to rest just thirty-three weeks before Mrs. McAninch. |

The funeral service was held at the M.E. church, Sunday, June 1, 1913, and the body was interred in the IOOF cemetery. |

William A. McAninch passed away at 3 p.m. Tuesday afternoon at the Davenport Hospital. The deceased was born in Pennsylvania, February 22, 1847, and was at the time of his death 71 years old. In February 1867 he was united in marriage to Miss Sarah Shidler of Cardington, Ohio; the couple moving to Davenport in 1879 and since residing here. Mr. McAninch was a member of the GAR and attended the Methodist church. |

The kind and loving husband and father is survived by his wife and eight children: George, Bert, Frank and Earl of Davenport; Harry of Minature, Nebraska, Mrs. W.W. Wilson, and Mrs. Bert Wilson of Silvis, Illinois, and Mrs. Pearl Erbst of Round Lake, Minnesota. |

The funeral will be held Thursday afternoon from the home, 1609 Fulton Avenue, with interment at Oakdale Cemetery. The GAR will have charge of the services at the grave. |

Obituary. Miss Ann Ett [sic] Woodle was born in Judea, Wis., Jan. 8, 1859. She was the oldest daughter of Joseph and Rachel Woodle. She came to Brooklyn, Iowa, with her parents when she was but two years of age. Practically her entire life was spent in this community. Nov. 25, 1884, she was united in marriage to Mr. Samuel McAninch. They adopted a little girl, Pearl, in 1890. Mrs. McAninch united with the Methodist church in early life and has ever been interested in the work of the church and Sabbath school. … She departed this life early Sabbath morning, August 15, 1920. Her sudden death has cast a gloom over the entire community. … |
