Source Notes:

[1] Three early pioneers in Armstrong County were named Henry, John, and William McAninch.

This ‘early pioneer’ Henry McAninch is the family documented here; the relationship(s) (if any)

among the first three ‘early pioneers’ are not known. In the second generation (after this first

Henry McAninch had already gone to Ohio), there are three brothers, also named Henry, John, and

William McAninch, believed to be sons of the pioneer John McAninch; ‘three brothers’, in the book

Commemorative Biographical Record, Central Penn., 1898, pub. J.H. Beers & Co., pg. 1621-1622.

The birth years are not an exact match, but it was a common mistake by census enumerators to just

mark the father and mother in the last column (45 & Over), and, we believe this is the same family.
