This indenture made and entered into the tenth day of March 1838 by and between John |

McAninch of the one part and George White of the other both of the County of Giles and State |

|
of Tennessee |

|
Witnesseth that for certain consideration of the sum of three hundred dollars in hand paid me |
||
|
by said White I have sold aliened [sic, ‘a lien’ed] conveyed and conferred unto the said |
||
|
George White a certain tract or parcel of land lying in said County of Giles and on the waters |
||
|
of Donhoe’s [sp?] creek bounded as follows |
||
|
Beginning on a stake a white oak pointer J. Jones south west corner in the south boundary |
||
|
line of Buncomb’s land, thence West 142 poles to Henry Surles south east corner two |
||
|
dogwoods and hickory pointer thence North 120 poles with his line to two small dogwoods |
||
|
thence East 143 poles to a stake ash & sugartree pointers in Jones line then south 2 degrees |
||
|
West 37 poles to a beech thence south 56 degrees East 12 ½ poles to a white oak thence |
||
|
south 2 degrees east 75 poles to the beginning |
||
|
containing by estimation one hundred and three acres more or less |
||
|
To have and to hold the before <unreadable> a parcel of land with all and singular the |
||
|
appurtenances thereunto belonging or in any wise appertaining to him the said George White |
||
|
his heirs and assigns forever free from the claim or claims of all and every person or persons |
||
|
whatsoever |
