Henry McAninch

To Joshua Morris

Registered the 8th day of May 1838

 

This indenture made and entered into this 6th sixth [sic] day of October one thousand eight

hundred and thirty seven between Henry McAninch of the one part and Joshua Morris of the

other part all of the County of Giles and State of Tennessee

Witnesseth that I the said Henry McAninch has this day sold unto the said Joshua Morris a

certain tract or parcel of land actual [entered?] or lying and being in the County and State

aforesaid on the waters of Big Creek bounded as follows

Beginning at the third [third, see 1835 purchase /fm] corner of Grant No. fifteen thousand

seven hundred and ten <unreadable> north one hundred and twelve 14/100 poles to a dogwood

in North corner of said Grant thence West seventy four poles to another corner of said Grant

to a stake nine Lynks [sic] east of a beech marked as a pointer thence North six poles to a

northern Corner of said Grant to a stake thence West thirty poles poles [sic] to a stake on

northern Corner of said Grant thence North fourteen poles to a stake a northern corner of said

Grant thence West forty one poles to a stake Millers Corner thence south one hundred and

thirty five & 84/100 poles to a stake thence east one hundred and thirty five poles another

corner of said Grant continuing on the same course to the beginning

containing one hundred and ten and three fourths acres

For the sum of sixteen hundred dollars to me in hand paid by the said Morris and the same

I the said Henry McAninch doth covenant to and with the said Joshua Morris his heirs &

to warrant and forever defend the wright [sic] title and claim and appurteances thereunto

belonging from all and every person or persons whomsoever claiming the same lawfully

In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal the date first of all
