This indenture made this 6th day of July 1826 between John McAninch of the County of Giles |
|
|
and State of Tennessee of the one part and Bernard M. Patteson of the same County and State of |
|
|
the other part |

|
Witnesseth that the said John McAninch for and in consideration of the sum of four thousand |
|
|
six hundred and sixty six dollars to him in hand paid by the said Bernard M. Patteson, the receipt |
|
|
whereof is hereby acknowledged, hath granted bargained and sold and by these presents doth |
|
|
grant bargain sell and convey unto the said Bernard M. Patteson a certain tract or parcel of land |
|
|
lying and being in the County of Giles aforesaid on the waters of Richland creek of Elk river |
|
|
containing six hundred and sixty six and two third acres and bounded as follows to wit |
|
|
Beginning four hundred twenty eight and a half poles west of a large white oak which stands on |
|
|
a small bluff of Richland creek which said white oak is George Doherty’s south west corner in |
|
|
the north boundary line of the heirs of Buncomb and on James Bufords south west corner |
|
|
running thence north with James Bufords west boundary line two hundred twenty seven and a |
|
|
fourth poles to three dogwoods a small hickory & Ironwood the south east corner of the heirs |
|
|
of John Walthall thence west four hundred and sixty nine poles to a stake in a field thence |
|
|
south two hundred twenty seven and a fourth poles to the North boundary line of the heirs of |
|
|
Buncomb thence east with the line of the heirs of Buncomb to the beginning |
