Louise McAninch, Aug. 18, 1964, Letter to Beatrice and Marjorie [“Bible of Daniel McAninch”] [4f]:

P.O. Box 367, Auburn, Ind., Aug. 18, 1964

Dear Marjorie:

Have you forgotten me? Please don’t, I am still doing a little genealogy from time to time. The last I did was July 6th, in Hendricks Co.

Here is all the information I found at that time. Before I go farther please excuse the carbon copy one of you will get as I am afraid I would never get two letters written.

I looked up the early papers for the county and found they do go back to 1859. I thought I had hit the jackpot, but wouldn’t you know the July 1859 issue was not there. I tried for Elizabeth in 1890 but was unable to find the July or Aug. issue. I did not have time for any more. Will try for Elizabeth in 1892 next time. I seem to have two dates for Elizabeth and none for Permelia.

I saw the family Bible I referred to earlier. It was the Bible of Daniel McAninch. Mrs. Wall thinks there may be another in storage which she is going to hunt and then let me know. We may find something eventually.
