This document, “Pleasant Hill Cemetery Names” from papers found in the “Phillips Estate”, was found at the Danville Public Library, 101 S. Indiana St., Danville, Indiana 46122, 317-745-2604, and re-confirmed in 2003 [Ph.Est.2b]. |

This list and sketch map are numbered “1 to 8, 8b, 9 to 19”, including the two locations numbered 8 and 8b, showing at least 20 graves |

“Chauncey Holiday Phillips was actually Holiday Chauncy Phillips according to his obituary. He died in 2/19/1983 in Harlingen Texas and was the son of Emery and Rosella (Justice) Phillips [he was] born 2/25/1894. I was told that he had no direct descendants and left his estate to several organizations. The library received his photographs and some of his papers went to the historical society. I assume that the cemetery list of Pleasant Hill was among those papers.” |

“4 nameless” clearly indicates that someone believed that there was another grave at that location (adjacent graves dated 1851 and 1859, so, assume that “4 nameless” was buried between 1851-1859?); |

[Sally Phillips] date of birth “(born 9-16-1775)” on the typed document, added by an unknown person; working backwards from “died Aug. 17, 1851” and “age 75 yr 11 mo 1 da”, this calculation of date-of-birth appears to be correct |

however, the calculation of the date of birth for Samuel McAninch is incorrect |

“8b” could mean that this grave was found later, and then inserted into an existing list numbered 1-19?; |

“?” could indicate that there might be another grave in the cemetery, for a total of 21 graves; possibly somebody walking through the cemetery would have thought that there might be another grave there, but had no more information |
